After avoiding contact in race 1 on the first lap and loosing several positions, Sarah strategically kept the car on the tarmac and by the time she handed over to Matt at the halfway point she had reclaimed more than 10 places. Matt showed his maturity and raw speed by recording the fastest lap of the race and to take the lead in class; unfortunately, on the last lap, disaster struck when the car began to lose power. He managed to bring the car home in one piece and still in the lead, meaning he crossed the line to earn his team the victory.

TMS did an amazing job to get the car out for the 2-hour second race. However, there were serious concerns about the Whitworth-sponsored TMS Ginetta G50, but Matt and Sarah, both of whom knew a championship lead was at stake, carefully guided the car to the chequered flag and a second-place in class finish.

A highlight of the weekend was to meet up with sponsors, Whitworth Chemists. They have been incredibly supportive of Matt’s racing from day one and without their help none of this would be possible, so a huge thank you to them!
